Responsibilities This position works closely with the financial services supervisor, other accounting and administrative staff and department staff to perform accounts payable, cash accounting and other assigned accounting and administrative responsibilities. The incumbent is responsible for accurate processing of vendor invoices for submission to UCDH Accounts Payable for payment in a timely manner. Incumbent reconciles account statements, files invoices, responds to vendor calls, analyzes information and prepares reports with data. Incumbent works with UCDH general ledger and accounting software to retrieve data for analysis and is proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Incumbent supports cash office with cash reconciliation, deposits and automated cash management machine support. Incumbent follows university and hospital policies and procedure for accounting and cash handling while working both independently and within a team. Incumbent demonstrates effective communication skills in verbal or written applications.
Extensive bookkeeping, cash handling and general office experience.
Experience with data reporting with the use of spreadsheets, word processing, tables and graphs to provide reporting.
Experience with and knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
Mathematical skills to perform calculations with accuracy.
Customer service skills to interact with internal and external constituents.
Analytical skills to independently evaluate information, identify and apply applicable practices and procedure, formulate logical and objective conclusions, and make recommendations for effective solutions.
Excellent judgment and diplomatic problem-solving skills with the ability to problem solve in a complex environment.
Knowledge and experience with but not limited to: accounting/financial software systems, Microsoft Office Suite, internet, email, etc.
Effective written and verbal communication skills to clearly and effectively interact and convey information with individuals of varying backgrounds and perspectives.
Must be able to work variable hours, weekends, holidays when needed in rare and specific circumstances.
Must be able to travel around UCDH campus.
Must be able to move items weighing up to 30 pounds.
This position may be subject to a criminal background investigation, drug screen, Live Scan fingerprinting, medical evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment.
