Patient Care Resources (PCR) provides 24/7 RN and HUSC Float Pool coverage to a variety of inpatient areas within the Patient Care Services division. The department has over 200 employees, both per diem and career. In addition, the department also has several programs that provide support to the inpatient units: Float Pool, Per Diem Pool, STAN Program, Action Team, Rapid Response Team, SOS Nurses, and Children's Hospital Seasonal Float Team.

Responsibilities The Unit Clerk (HUSC III) is responsible for performing reception and clerical functions for the nursing station; coordinates patient care activities with other departments to include programming and answering call lights, arranging transport services for transporting patients to other areas of the hospital, ancillary services, stocking supplies and forms, doing audits, and functions related to admissions, transfers and discharges of patients. The HUCS III in the PCR - Float Pool, will provide support to all in-patient units, potentially being assigned a different unit each day.
At least one year of experience working in a hospital unit or medical office.
Customer service skills.
Transcribing physician orders.
Experience utilizing a multiline phone system.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Intermediate computer skills.
EPIC computer software knowledge
UC Davis Health experience
Experience in a children's health care setting
Experience working with children and families
