Projects in the Beatty Lab utilize skills in the areas of chemistry, molecular imaging, cell biology, protein engineering, bioconjugation reactions (e.g., click chemistry), biochemistry, and molecular biology.
The Program in Chemical Biology at OHSU has an open position in the Beatty Lab. The researcher will conduct research at the interface of chemistry and cancer biology, working collaboratively to develop and optimize new technologies for imaging at high-resolution.
Development of new methods for imaging cellular proteins
Application of new technologies towards imaging cancer cell receptors
Data analysis, preparation of written reports, and publication of findings in peer-reviewed journals
Other duties as assigned
Masters Degree with major courses in field of research and 3 years of experience; OR Bachelors Degree with major courses in field of research plus 5 years of experience
Relevant experience should include fluorescence microscopy and tissue culture
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and with diverse teams on collaborative projects
Passionate about research, self-sufficient, and goal-oriented
Enthusiasm for learning new techniques
Ph.D. in biochemistry, cell biology, or related field
3 years of relevant experience
Expertise in chemical biology, biochemistry, cell/cancer biology
