We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Accountant/Financial Analyst. This position will have an active role in the Finance department to ensure proper processing of transactions, preparation of financial reporting and supporting the community of Spalding to adhere to the policies of the finance department.
The Senior Accountant is responsible for Supervision of the Payable Department and staff accountants. This position will ensure that all General Ledger transactions are property prepared, posted and approved.
The position is also responsible for Financial Analysis report preparation and review in the Anaplan module.
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervision of the Accounts payable department
Supervision of the Staff Accountants
Support the Assistant Controller is maintaining a timely and accurate trial balance
Support the Controller and Assistant Controller is Financial information reporting
Prepare, review and distribute monthly financial reports from the Anaplan system
Track expenses and revenue vs. budget and reforecast and analyze fluctuations
Insure the Finance office policies and procedures are implemented and updated
Assist with annual audit
Assist in the budget and reforecast process
Develop, maintain and distribute ad-hoc reports and financial models as needed
Other accounting and Finance Office responsibilities as needed.
Keep current on GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience, prefer 5 years’ experience in accounting and reporting with supervisory experience.
Experience in higher education is a plus.
Knowledge of Ellucian Colleague is a plus
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects and be self-starter
Must be very detailed oriented
