The Department of Family Medicine is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to assist with the flow of clinic patients in the Firetower Medical Office. Job duties of this position include performing patient workups, assisting health care providers with clinical procedures, administering medications, and performing basic laboratory tests. Operation hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. with hours 8:00 a.m – 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
This position comes in contact with medical providers, patients, staff, medical sales representatives, and other personnel at the ECU School of Medicine.

This position is subject to the Career Banding Salary Administration Plan. If candidates are not identified at the Journey level, management may consider candidates at a lower competency level. Pay will be commensurate with applicant’s competencies as well as budget, equity, and market considerations.

Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work. Requires certification through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA); or successful completion of the requirements from an accredited medical assisting program that permit eligibility to sit for a national certification exam. If not already certified, please note that you must receive your Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification within 6 months from your start date for continued employment.
