Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) seeks a strategic and accomplished professional to manage Human Resources. The primary responsibility involves the design, development, and implementation of PVCC's human resources functions: to supervise payroll and benefits administration, compensation and classification, training and development, worker's compensation, legal compliance, and employee relations. Successful candidate will have: •Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of human resource management, as well as State and Federal laws pertinent to human resource functions. •Supervisory experience of all HR functions, including payroll processes. •Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply related policies and procedures. •Extensive knowledge of classification and compensation to include job design, evaluation and analysis, and pay practices and salary determination; recruitment and selection to include advertising, screening, interviewing and negotiating salaries; performance management processes, including training, consultation with management, and oversight of the planning and evaluation phases. •Extensive knowledge of employee relations, including: counseling, corrective action, dispute resolution, the grievance procedure, EEO, and complaint investigation. •Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data and reach conclusions which are logical and legally supportable; counsel and advise managers and employees in human resources issues and seek resolution; use applicable software and manual records to compile, analyze, and report on pertinent data; communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management and effectively present a positive image of the organization to external entities; and coach management and employees. •Applicant must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products.
Bachelor's degree is strongly preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience, in Human Resources, Business Management, or related field.
