The Department of in the Leo J. Meehan School of Business at Stonehill College invites applicants for an Adjunct Professor of Management. This is a one-semester position for Spring 2021 with the possibility of an extension. This person would join the department of 21 full-time faculty with a wide range of disciplinary expertise and a commitment to fostering diversity among faculty and students. This position can be online or in person on the Stonehill campus. The Business Administration Department at Stonehill College is AACSB accredited and offers majors in Accounting, Finance, General Management, Management Information Systems, International Business, and Marketing. The department also offers minors in Data Science, Management Information Systems, Business Administration, and Entrepreneurship.
We seek applicants who have a diverse background and experience in educating and advising undergraduate business students. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in teaching quantitative analysis, statistics, or research methods. Candidates must hold a Master of Business Administration, Master of Management Science, or related degree, have relevant professional experience, and proven successful teaching experience at the undergraduate level.
The position involves teaching two sections of BUS 206 Quantitative Analysis in the evening after 5pm. Options for course times on Tuesday/Thursday morning may also be available. This first-year/sophomore level course is an introduction to the techniques and reasoning processes of statistical analysis, specifically in the corporate/business environment. Emphasis on statistical reasoning and critical analysis of statistical evidence is important. Statistical software (JMP or SAS Studio) is used to support computational tasks. Topics include study/survey design, data collection, descriptive statistics, elementary probability, discrete and continuous distributions, confidence interval estimation, tests of hypotheses for numerical and categorical data, simple linear regression, and multiple regression.
