The College of Business invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE), 9-month, fixed-term Instructor position. Reappointment is at the discretion of the Dean.
The instructor, depending on their education, experience, and skills, may be assigned courses in the following areas: introductory accounting courses, upper-division accounting courses, graduate-level accounting courses and other courses in the School of Accounting, Finance and Information Systems. COB academic faculty teaching assignments may include course delivery in any format (i.e., in-person, online, Hybrid). Assigned courses may be at the undergraduate or graduate level.
The College of Business joins with other departments and colleges in new initiatives to respond to the needs and concerns of OSU's increasingly multicultural student body, and to join the ranks of top tier colleges of business across North American teaching excellence, cutting edge research, industry partnerships and community service.
Typically requires Master’s degree in discipline appropriate to the field of teaching/instructional tasks.
A Master's degree in a related field of study (e.g., Accounting, Finance, BIS, Law).
Evidence of teaching effectiveness in related college-level courses (e.g., Accounting, Finance, BIS courses).
Experience teaching tax courses at the college-level at an AACSB accredited accounting program (e.g., Entity Level Taxation, Individual Taxation, Advanced Taxation).
Experience successfully coordinating major student organizations or major student experiential learning initiatives.
Demonstrable commitment to actively promoting and enhancing an equitable, inclusive, diverse, and socially just organizational culture.
This position may require teaching in-person, hybrid and online courses. The incumbent may be required to participate in evening activities, such as student club meetings, meetings with alumni, and delivering evening courses. The incumbent may be required to deliver in-person course content at other OSU facilities such as the OSU Portland Center and the OSU Cascades Campus. Physical work is minimal and, apart from required in-person activities, can generally be completed in an office environment or at home.
