Responsibilities Lift Technicians serve as a resource in the use of Safe Patient Handling (SPH) equipment and movement of patients. This position also serves as body mechanics and SPH coaches and trainers for staff involved in patient handling.
Strong knowledge of patient care support activities, systems, external regulations and internal policies.
Knowledge of and experience safely operating safe patient handling equipment including lifts, friction reducing devices, powered and non powered patient equipment.
Experience safely operating wheelchairs, gurneys, electric beds, cribs, and special beds.
Knowledge of proper body mechanics and patient transfer techniques and skill to transfer patients without injury to self, patient or others.
Knowledge of legal implications for clinical practice.
Must be skilled in handling bariatric patients and pediatric patients.
Prior experience in-patient care setting.
Special Requirements Must receive CPR certification within 3 months of employment and maintains current. This position may be subject to a criminal background investigation, drug screen, Live Scan fingerprinting, medical evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment.
