Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a motivated Research Teaching Specialist V for the Department of Oral Biology within the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine (RSDM).
Under direction of the Principal Investigator, the Research Teaching Specialist V performs technical research activities. Assists in the conduct of highly specialized technical research. May assist in the management of a portion of a small laboratory.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Oversees all research inventories.
Performs cell culture.
Performs animal experiments using a mouse model.
Manages animal cages (breeding and wean pups).
Performs RNA isolation.
Performs histology (frozen sections) and immunostaining.
Maintains laboratory equipment to meet unique needs of the research activity.
Assists with preparation of grant proposals, presentations and publications.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant science.
Prior research experience an asset.
Salary: Salary pro-rated to part-time hours
