The Rockefeller University seeks a Husbandry Attendant, Field Research Center, Millbrook, New York to join Field Research Center, Millbrook, New York. The Husbandry Attendant will be responsible for taking care of the zebra finch colony at Rockefeller University's Field Research Center in Millbrook, NY. Responsibilities include monitoring and handling zebra finches, preparing feed, collecting specimens, administering topical and oral medications, providing water and supplements, and cleaning cages.
High School diploma or equivalent required. Must have prior experience working with animals. Willingness to work with research animals, specifically birds required. Must be reliable, punctual, and project-oriented. The desire to learn about standard operating procedures and federal and state laws regulating animal use in research is necessary. Must be detail-oriented, possess excellent organizational skills, ability to work alone, and stay focused.
