The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant will be responsible for the following tasks:
Assist Urology Faculty in rendering patient care and education and be able to conduct independent sessions.
Perform History and Physicals.
Return patient calls in reference to questions on patient care; including prescriptions, patient discomfort, after care and any other inquiry regarding care.
Attend continuing education classes and participate in Grand Rounds.
Render post-operative care for patients, inclusive of education, wound care and catheter changes.
Perform approved diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for patients.
Maintain in-going communications with physician collaborator relative to patient care and administrative issues.
Other duties as assigned.
Nurse Practitioner: NYS RN License, NYS certification as a Nurse Practitioner, National certification in specialty, Master's Degree in Nursing or Master of Science.
Physician Assistant: NYS license and certification (or eligible) as a Physician Assistant, Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of Physician's Assistants.
At least one year of recent clinical experience as a NP or PA, Experience working independently as a NP or PA, Experience with electronic medical records, Experience in an outpatient clinic or inpatient setting, Urology or Surgical experience, Master of Science preferred for PA.
