The regional campuses of Ohio University invites applicants for the position of Director of Regional Higher Education Communications and External Relations.
Regional Higher Education (RHE) consists of five regional campuses and two centers serving students throughout southeastern and portions of central Ohio with a comprised enrollment of more than 5,000 students. For more information about Regional Higher Education, please visit www.ohio.edu/regional.
Reporting directly to the Associate Dean for Regional Higher Education and Lifelong Learning, with a secondary reporting line to the Senior Director of Enterprise Marketing in University Communications & Marketing, this position supports the development and execution of regional campus communication and community relations strategy.
Under the guidance and direction of the Office of Regional Higher Education and Lifelong Learning, develops and directs Regional Higher Education (RHE) Communications Strategy in collaboration and coordination with Executive Dean, RHE Leadership, Campus Deans, Campus Communications / External Relations Coordinators, and University Communications and Marketing (UCM).
Supervise Campus Coordinators and ensure campus communication efforts align with university and RHE strategies.
Directs messaging to key constituents across RHE and their communities to elevate regional perception of the campus and the University.
Develops and adapts messaging, consistent with university brand standards and expectations, for RHE student audiences and regional communities served.
Develops and directs strategy for the promotion of RHE student and alumni success stories and accomplishments of RHE faculty and staff for OHIO and external publications and broadcasts.
Supports UCM in development of RHE web, social media, marketing, advertising, and media strategies.
Directs and supports the development of RHE recruitment and enrollment messaging strategies, in direct collaboration with the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and regional campus student services and academic support offices.
Under general supervision from the Associate Dean, prioritize resources and make recommendations regarding opportunities for investment or savings.
Participates in UCM strategy development and execution activities as RHE representative, as appropriate.
Works with UCM to identify needs and resources for designed materials (e.g. templates, print collateral, marketing materials, etc.).
Other duties as assigned.
Manages professional development efforts of RHE, supports professional development collaborations in the RHE campus communities including continuing education, professional development trainings, and other short-term, non-credit training efforts.
Supports Executive Dean of Regional Higher Education and Deans of Campus and Community Relations in outreach to strategic regional stakeholders.
Serves on university workforce development groups as necessary and appropriate.
Other duties as assigned.
Master's degree in Communication, Marketing, Leadership or related field required. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also satisfy the degree requirement.
A minimum of six (6) years of relevant work experience with a minimum of five (5) years of managerial experience.
Strong written and oral communication skills as well as strong organizational skills and demonstrated initiative.
