- Maintaining the mouse colony: Animal husbandry, colony census and tracking, genotyping (earmarking and snipping mice, DNA extraction, PCR), and communicating with animal care staff, lab researchers, and senior animal colony manager in the lab. - Performing behavioral test batteries: Planning and performing the tests, analyzing the data from the tests, careful record-keeping, and communicating results and plans with concerned lab members - Assisting in related molecular biology experiments: Will work closely with other members of the laboratory as assigned, acute and chronic drug administration studies, and tissue dissection. - Other experimental procedures, as needed: Intracranial surgeries for viral injection, animal perfusion and tissue collection, immunohistochemistry for viral expression confirmation, and training lab members in specific experimental techniques.
Bachelor's degree in neuroscience or related field.
