Assistant / Associate Research Scientist (Part-Time)
The NYU Dentistry Department of Molecular Pathobiology is seeking a highly motivated part-time assistant/associate research scientist to join the Microbiome group. Candidates should be an excellent experimentalist in cell culture and molecular biology with a strong background in microbiology. The incumbent will investigate the mechanisms of host-microbiome interactions in mouth and gut. We are expanding experimental work to reveal the new mechanism by which microbiome and its metabolites modulate host response in various diseases. Qualified candidates should have:
A Ph.D. in Biology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology or a related field.
Familiarity with 16S/metagenomics, PCR arrays, functional genetic and/or genomic data is preferred
Experience in microbiology and fermentation.
Ability to communicate scientific material and work well in a collaborative environment.
Experience in human microbiome or microbiology with proven ability to conduct independent research.
