Oversees and contributes (expected approximately 50% time) to the daily care of animal patients within the Veterinary Medical Center in order to facilitate the service, teaching and research activities of the small animal clinic. Supervise, hire and oversee training of staff within the ICU unit; ensure that staffing levels are appropriate; manages communication regarding client care; performs duties normally associated with veterinary technician I and II in order to complete necessary work; continues to provide technician support to current service in VMC.
Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills
Knowledge normally acquired in the first two or three years in college, technical or vocational school with coursework in Veterinary Technology; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in patient care, surgery, drug dosing and sterilization, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; licensed as a Veterinary Technician with the State of Michigan, or attainment of such certification within one year of date of employment.
