ColumbiaDoctors is dedicated to providing healthcare and administrative support to Columbia University Medical Center, over 1,600 providers with revenues in excess of $800 million. We are seeking a highly motivated customer service focused individual to join our Finance team as Senior Accountant, responsible for a broad range of support in accounting and financial analysis functions.
Reconcile all faculty practice receipts received through ColumbiaDoctors bank accounts to the Practice Management System (IDX & EPIC).
Create, manage, and maintain the manual monthly AR valuation schedules, sub-schedules, and high-level review reports for the FPO departments for both IDX & EPIC.
Transfer of funds recorded centrally in the ColumbiaDoctors general ledger account to individual clinical department's faculty practice general ledger accounts.
Monitor the electronic receipts through Healthcare link (HCL) to ensure all electronic payments have been matched and posted and exceptions timely resolved.
Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and annual FPO close process, including journal entries, variance analysis, reconciling departmental accounts, maintaining receivable and recovery schedules, and preparation of FPO financial statements with support schedules.
Reconcile FPO bank account activity.
Maintenance of IDX & EPIC posting exception and reconciliation reports.
Work to coordinate the funds flow of insurance payment offsets and recoupments.
Track meaningful use, P4P, and settlement payments received and receivable.
Development and distribution of all related fund flow and Insurance offset & recoupment reports.
Work with Clinical Revenue Office (CRO) and outside payment posting vendors to resolve workflow variances.
Work with the Clinical Revenue office to develop and streamline funds flow process and policies.
Maintain and update cash projection and waterfall analyzes models as needed.
Liaise with clinical and other administrative departments to obtain statistical information relevant to revenues and expense reconciliations and analysis.
Maintain and manage the returned refund process, grand rounds, and ACN reconciliations, along with schedules and entries as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Must successfully complete systems training requirements.
Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting or business-related field.
Minimum 4 years of prior experience in accounting/ financial analyst/decision support is required, preferably with exposure to an academic physician practice.
Advanced Excel and database management skills required.
Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
Experience with J.P Morgan Healthcare Link (HCL), IDX, EPIC, Peoplesoft /ERP software is preferable.
The ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously is essential.
