The Center for Advancing Correctional Excellence! (ACE!), within the Criminology, Law & Society Department at George Mason University is seeking a Research Assistant (RA) to work on-site at Rockdale County Jail in Georgia to assist in a research study involving young adults (17-24 years old). The purpose of the study is to evaluate the effectiveness of a specialized curriculum to help young individuals (17-24 year olds) have better outcomes both inside the jail and after release.
The RA will be primarily responsible for recruiting participants, consenting participants, conducting assessments with participants, documenting assessments and interactions with the participants, and tracking participant data. The RA will need to work closely with the George Mason University staff and Rockdale County Jail staff to ensure that activities are successfully completed in a timely manner.
This will be a part time position (maximum 29 hours per week) that is based in Rockdale County Jail, Conyers, Georgia.
Bachelor's degree in related field;
At least 2 years' experience with research studies;
Experience with justice-involved populations;
Human subjects (IRB) training prior to start date;
Excellent time management and organizational skills;
Proficiency with MS Office software.
Must be able to pass a background check to work inside of the jail.
Salary: Commensurate with education and experience.
