Job Summary: Owensboro Community and Technical College is accepting applications for a full-time, 11-month instructional specialist in the area of agriculture to coordinate agriculture related programs for farm families thought the Daviess, Hancock, McLean, and Ohio County service area.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Hold periodic in depth instructional meetings/classes during the fall and winter months to address agrarian needs in the service area. Provide instruction in group and individual formats. Provide instruction for the young farmer and/or the experienced farmer as needed.
Provide individualized site supervision and support as needed.
Revitalize and increase membership in the area young farmer chapter and maintain affiliation with the Kentucky Young Farmer Association.
Assists local county extension, natural resources and county agriculture officials with opportunities and techniques that improve and enhance the quality of life. Assist local, regional and state FFA groups with activities and programs that enhance learning at each level.
Bachelor's degree (Agriculture or related field to include Certified Crop Advisor Certification) and two years related work experience, or equivalent.
A dependable, personal vehicle for travel to farm sites
