Reporting to the Division Chief, Chairman, and Senior Director, the Nurse Practitioner will assist in the clinical care, preoperative care, and post-operative care of patients at the Harkness 7 and 51 West 51st St practice sites.
The NP will work collaboratively with physicians, practice assistants, and medical assistants, as an integral part of the clinical team to care for patients of the Division of Rhinology: Sinus & Anterior Skull Base Surgery
The NP performs direct patient care services; will document history, orders, notes and ongoing evaluation of patients; review laboratory results and order appropriate tests; provide patient education, monitor follow-up appointments and schedule procedures and next steps as needed
The NP will serve as liaison to referring physicians and external transfers
In addition, there will be opportunities to participate in research studies as well as with Quality Assurance initiatives
Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN), plus 1 year of related experience
Three years of experience in a surgical specialty, preferably in a surgical field
Current New York State NP and RN licenses
Must be board certified
Must be available to work a weekday schedule between Monday- Friday
Excellent communication skills, enthusiasm, and ability to develop warm relationships with patients are needed
