Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey is seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Fellow for the Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology within the School of Public Health.
This is a joint project with New Jersey Department of Health NJDOH). Under the supervision of a Biostatistics Faculty member at Rutgers School of Public Health, this post-doctoral fellow position will work on the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) funded New Jersey State Biomonitoring Program (NJSBM). This NJSBM project is sponsored by New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH) and directed by the Director of Environmental Chemistry Laboratory Services at NJDOH.
The post-doctoral fellow will conduct the research activities for three biomonitoring projects developed for the NJSBM, including NJ population study, NJ prenatal exposure study for toxic metals, and exposure to environmental toxic chemicals through dry blood spot investigation and autism health effects. Specifically, this fellow will perform data management, conduct data analysis, maintain the NJSBM website and assist in NJHANES field work (e.g., subject recruitment, questionnaire survey, collection of specimens from participating homes, and coordination). This position will also support other biomonitoring projects activities, such as community outreach, education, report and article preparation, and presentation at scientific conferences.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Performs data management, conducts data analysis, maintains the NJSBM website and assists in NJHANES field work (e.g., subject recruitment, questionnaire survey, collection of specimens from participating homes, and coordination).
Supports biomonitoring project activities, such as community outreach, education, report and article preparation, and presentation at scientific conferences.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Doctorate degree in Epidemiology, Exposure Science, Public Health, Environmental Health or other related science disciplines.
Two (2) years or more experiences in collecting health/exposure data, and assessing health effects from environmental exposures.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge and skills of statistical data analysis and data management.
Adequate writing skills for scientific and technical reports and articles.
Must have excellent communication skills.
Timely, consistent, motivated individual and team player.
Valid driver's license and vehicle.
Knowledge and skills of subject recruitment, questionnaire survey, results dissemination and community outreach.
