Under the direction of the Operations Supervisor and/or the Lead Craft Specialist, the Craft Specialist repairs, installs, replaces and tests electrical circuits, equipment and appliances, using hand tools and testing instruments to supply electrical power to lighting and equipment operations. Sets priorities and handles multiple projects or assignments and meets completion schedules within established objectives. Performs preventive maintenance. Uses various hand tools and testing instruments to accomplish assigned tasks. Reports appropriate corrections/repairs and makes referrals to the appropriate Operations Supervisor, Lead Craft Specialist, Hospitality Center or specialty shops. Performs other related duties as required.
Completion of high school or an equivalent trade school with related specialty or a comparable level of education and experience is required.
A minimum of 2 years at an apprentice level of the craft or trade is required.
Able to read blueprints and schematics.
Electrical and mechanical background is required.
Progressively responsible experience demonstrating ability to set priorities and handle multiple projects or assignments and meet completion schedules within established time frames.
Hospital experience preferred.
Must read, write, speak English and be able to read training documents.
Thorough knowledge and experience on drawing schematics, laying out work, trouble shooting of equipment and machinery is required.
C - 10 California Electrical Contractor License -or- Certified General Electrician Certification from the State of California
