Duquesne University is a private, Catholic, co-educational university with approximately 10,000 students. Duquesne University is classified by the Carnegie Foundation as a RU/H Research University. The University is located on a private, 44-acre campus, which overlooks the city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
This position is a full-time, 12 month, non-tenure stream appointment with primary assignment to the faculty of the Health Sciences Program in the Department of Athletic Training. Faculty responsibilities for this position include: teaching undergraduate and graduate courses as appropriate, mentoring health sciences students within the program, pursuing scholarship and service commensurate with the non-tenure track appointment. In addition to teaching responsibilities, this individual will be engaged with the development of capstone and experiential learning opportunities. The faculty member will contribute to the missions of both the Department of Athletic Training and the John G. Rangos School of Health Sciences. The faculty member will have the opportunity to contribute to the on-going development and implementation of a new Health Sciences Program. Furthermore, applicants must be willing to contribute actively to the University mission and to respect the Spiritan Catholic identity of Duquesne University.
Interested candidates must possess a Master's degree or doctoral degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Biomechanics, Nutrition, Exercise Physiology or related field. Candidates should also possess a minimum of 2-3 years of teaching/clinical teaching experience that can be applied to a wide range of health science topic areas. A minimum of 2-3 years of clinical experience (health, exercise science, athletic training or related discipline) is also required. Evidence of scholarly productivity is desirable but not required.
