The Department of Health Administration and Public Health (HAPH) is seeking a full-time, non-tenure track faculty member for a 12-month assistant professor position beginning in July 2021, pending final budget approval. The Department of HAPH currently offers four degree programs: (1) Bachelor of Science in Health Administration and (2) Master of Health Administration (3) Bachelor of Science in Public Health (4) Bachelor of Arts in Public Health and one Public Health minor program. The HAPH Department also looks forward to not only increasing current course offerings, but expanding its outreach globally.
Work collaboratively with the HAPH Department Chair and faculty members.
Maintain active scholarship and pursue externally-funded research in areas of interest.
Teach the equivalent of 24 credits per year: online, blended, and face-to-face undergraduate and graduate courses.
Advise and mentor students in majors and minor.
Mentor high quality student research.
Contribute through university, school, departmental, and professional service activities.
Earned doctoral degree in public health for related field. Qualified candidates with additional administrative experience in CEPH accreditation and student-faculty research are urged to apply.
Evidence of teaching excellence and scholarly publications and funded research.
Knowledge and experience in teaching both traditional and on-line undergraduate and graduate-level courses in the following content areas:
Must have flexibility to participate in overseas travel and teaching in the Duquesne-China Health Institute (DCHI).
Teaching, scholarship, and funded research in any of the following areas: public health, health promotion, global health, disparities in health care, needs assessment and program planning and evaluation.
