Essential Functions: As an expansion of the Tumor Immunology unit in the C.S. Mott Center for Human Growth and Development at Wayne State University, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is a recruiting a cancer biologist to be part of a team to enhance our current interdisciplinary research strength. Successful candidate will Lead nationally recognized research effort in investigating the molecular and cellular pathways of ovarian cancer metastasis, as well as understanding the role of tumor microenvironment in these processes in vitro and in vivo. In addition, she/he will also focus on development of novel nanoparticle delivery system to target ovarian cancer metastasis and recurrence. The successful candidates must have extensive experience in CRISPR/Cas9 techniques to investigate the role of specific gene of interest.
Qualifications: Candidates must have a PhD and/or MD degree with a demonstrated track-record of research accomplishments in the area of nanotechnology and cancer biology are invited to apply. The successful applicant must have a strong background in the development of nanoparticle as drug delivery system for cancer therapy. Expertise in the areas of cancer metastasis and EMT pathways, tumor microenvironment, cancer immunology, drug delivery systems, development of in vitro models and mouse cancer models, and applicants making use of tumor model systems are strongly encouraged to apply.Faculty rank must commensurate with credentials.
