The Rockefeller University seeks a Systems Analyst to join Hospital. Reporting to the Hospital IT Manager of Hospital Informatics, the Systems Analyst will provide application configuration and functional/system support to the clinical research and institutional review board operations of The Rockefeller University Hospital (RUH). Responsibilities will include assisting in the development of processes and procedures for change, issue, and defect management; coordinating and establishing testing plans and scripts for use during implementations and upgrades by staying on top of system releases; working with various groups within the hospital to update and refine their processes as it relates to Informatics applications and systems; and working in tandem with Hospital Informatics, CRSO (Clinical Research Support Office), facilitation and IRB to support the completion of projects. Will schedule and conduct periodic IRB, facilitation, and CRSO meetings, effectively communicate assignments to the Manager and expectations to team members and track the completion of deliverables to ensure quality and integrity of all work-related products. Additional responsibilities include adapting and configuring technology to comply with FDA, IRB, GCP, and ICH regulations and guidelines; providing assistance and back up for Cerner Electronic Health Record and REDCap, assisting with Quality Assurance/User Acceptance Testing, and writing support documents for new versions. Will be the point of contact for team-designated support tickets and relay of appropriate tickets to system vendor (iMedris). The Systems Analyst will make SQL queries of the Oracle database to create Ad-Hoc reports, create and update e-IRB forms, workflow, and the various system settings, manage phone calls and e-mails for iRIS system support, and perform upgrades and testing of new software builds. The Systems Analyst will train staff and board members by providing guides for them on using iRIS, provide application systems training (in person, audio, visual), and support for new Hospital Informatics infrastructure, implement patches and upgrades for new system releases and support other information systems applications that support the Hospital activities.
Bachelor's degree in computer science or information systems required. Three years of experience, preferably in healthcare informatics or a clinical research setting preferred. Must have strong communication and systems analysis skills with the ability to learn and adapt quickly. Strong technical skills and computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Oracle/SQL and familiarity in reporting tools, i.e., Crystal, Cerner DA2, Business Objects, BIRT, Jasper iReport, required. Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and visualization of data preferred. Exceptional written and oral communication skills and the ability to work effectively with research investigators and administrators a must. Must have the ability to work within complex software environments and work well with the vendor, project team, consultants, IT staff, and end-users. Must be self-motivated to work under manager supervision and in a team environment. Initiative and creativity, with a deep willingness to gain subject matter expertise (SME) in protocol development, study applications and submissions, and IRB (Institutional Review Board) workflows and subject management required. As a vital member of the Information Technology/Hospital Informatics team, you will be required to be available to perform job-related duties during off-hours. In some instances, may be required to come to campus or provide off-site support during time outside of regular working hours.
