About the Position:
The position will support the Associate Director of Budget by being the college expert on Graduate Assistant (GA) contracts, assignments and related benefits, and ensuring compliance with university policy related to GAs. The Budget Analyst will accurately maintain, monitor, reconcile and analyze departmental level budgets and expenditures.
The responsibilities of the Budget Analyst include tracking part-time faculty and graduate assistantship assignments, tuition waivers, and work-study funds by collecting data, assuring consistency with university policies, and managing allocations to maintain budget levels. The individual will also provide prompt assistance to department office managers with questions regarding budget management, reconciliation procedures, the internally developed budget tracking system, and the Ellucian SCT Banner system.
Business-related undergraduate degree (i.e., accounting or business administration) or an equivalent combination of education/training and experience;
A comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Adobe and Microsoft Word;
Aptitude to learn to work with database reporting tools and core functions in an ERP system;
Ability to research, investigate, analyze, reconcile and evaluate data, as well as ability to anticipate problems and make recommendations and suggest solutions to the Associate Director of Finance and maintain confidential data;
An interest in improving understanding of budget system development, control and financial performance analysis techniques, and troubleshooting budget related issues;
Strong organizational, financial and customer service skills, including the ability to interact with faculty, staff and students in a professional manner, and the ability to maintain harmonious working relationships with a population of diverse individuals.
Experience with budget planning, formulation, and implementation either in formal work or voluntary settings;
Experience in a university administrative setting;
Experience with Banner and/or MicroStrategy.
Salary: Commensurate with education and experience.
