The Quality and Patient Experience (QPE) department delivers on the Board's vision to advance a culture of treating patients with dignity, respect and equity; within our institutions and in the communities we serve; promote a reliable, consistent, and coordinated care experience across institutions; and achieve the best clinical outcomes possible. Seeking experienced healthcare professional with project management and analytic skills to design and implement programming that supports the access and utility of virtual care tools to all MGB patients. This will be accomplished primarily through development of a new program where Digital Navigator workforce will be deployed to provide training within clinical settings to orient patients to digital health tools. The Project Specialist, working with newly developed team, will work to launch, implement, and assess this program effectiveness in eliminating disparities in use of digital health tools by race, ethnicity, language, and other domains of health equity.
The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal, leadership and project management skills, experience with digital health, professional maturity, attention to detail and analytic competence. The Specialist will work closely with a newly created team, reporting to the MGB Associate Chief Quality Officer, tasked with generating rapid and sustained improvements in the accessibility and delivery of virtual care that result to equal health outcomes for all patients regardless of race, ethnicity or language.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
• In concert with the Program Director of Health Equity and the Associate Chief Quality Officer, this person will support MGB's enterprise efforts to improve patient health equity and quality and its related work, with a focus on digital care (telephonic, video, asynchronous). This will include optimization of EHR workflows, provider and administrator trainings, patient centered interfaces, and related infrastructure to support effective, equitable virtual care. • Support the launch and operations of a program of Digital Health Navigators, digitally savvy people to work directly with patients at multiple MGB clinics, to train patients on digital tools. • Develop training material to support Digital Navigator interactions with patients. • Establish processes for monitoring and report on key performance indicators of success in the deployment and maximum utilization of virtual technology for all patients, with eye to identify successful interventions to scale. • Support implementation of interventions to improve patient outcomes based on measurement of variations in care related to social determinants of health and patient diversity • Design, in partnership with eCare, of training materials for patients on patient portal and managing their care virtually. • Measure and share variations in patient outcomes based on race, ethnicity, language • Other work as assigned.
• Bachelors degree and 4+ years of experience OR Masters degree and 2+ years of experience in quality improvement, healthcare consulting, policy analysis, or quality/financial data analysis and reporting preferred. • Experience in clinical project management, consulting or clinical/financial data analysis preferred.
