East Tennessee State University (ETSU) Department of Family Medicine and Medical Education Assistance Corporation (MEAC) seek two board-certified MD or DO colleagues to join our team of educators in the new Elizabethton, TN location.
The qualified faculty physicians will provide team-based care in the outpatient setting with up to 80% (0.8 FTE) spent in the primary role of clinic physician. Up to 20% (0.2 FTE) time will be in supervising the care provided by residents in the Johnson City Family Medicine Residency (JCFMR), ETSU Health Family Physicians Johnson City as part of the faculty for that program, and as a faculty member in the Department of Family Medicine.
The Department's clinical centers utilize an integrated, inter-professional approach to healthcare and serve a diverse patient population unique to the Appalachian region. We are a well-established 6-6-6 community-based residency program accredited by the ACGME with a supportive hospital affiliation. Our clinical site, ETSU Health Family Medicine Associates of Johnson City, is a level 3 Patient Centered Medical Home conveniently located near Johnson City Medical Center and features a fully-integrated EHR. The site in Elizabethton is approximately 10 miles away. The EHR at these sites would also be integrated with those of the centers and MEAC offices.
Serving as a primary physician for patients in the clinic, providing patient-centered care, and performing administrative duties. Other roles will include role modeling, teaching and mentoring residents, medical students, and interprofessional students who may rotate through the clinic, or during time in the JCFMR.
Position is contingent upon sufficient funding, but a significant portion will come from clinical revenues at the site.
