The School of Mechanical, Industrial, and Manufacturing Engineering (MIME) at Oregon State University invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE) 9-month, tenure-track Assistant/Associate/Full Professor position within the area of aerospace engineering.
Exceptionally strong candidates at all levels (assistant, associate, and full) including those with industry or research lab experience are encouraged to apply. Applicants must hold a doctorate in a relevant field. The school seeks to attract exceptional candidates with research interests and expertise in advanced manufacturing, design, or material science with an emphasis in aerospace systems. Research areas such as high-temperature ceramics, protective coatings and claddings, high temperature oxidation/corrosion, advanced joining in microgravity, and the design of multi-material components for hypersonic aerospace are of specific interest.
Faculty collaboration opportunities include but are not limited to ONAMI (Oregon Nanoscience and Microtechnologies Institute), ATAMI (Advanced Technologies and Manufacturing Institute), OMI (Oregon Metals Initiative), and the Oregon Manufacturing Innovation Center (OMIC).
The successful candidate will be expected to initiate new externally funded research as well as expand, complement, and collaborate with existing research programs in the School, College of Engineering, and beyond. The successful candidate will conduct original research, build relationships with industry partners, advise graduate students, teach undergraduate and graduate level courses, and perform service at the School, College, and University levels.

Typically requires PhD or terminal degree (Masters for some Extension positions and MLS for Library positions), demonstrated ability to teach in a classroom Extension, or other setting, and develop a research program in the academic discipline/unit.
Minimum/Required Qualifications for All Levels:
Applicants must have earned a PhD in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, material science, or other relevant field prior to the position start date.
Applicants must have demonstrated ability or significant potential for excellent teaching, leading and collaborating in innovative research, and attracting external competitive funding to sustain a vigorous research program.
