Will assist in all aspects of postmortem examination including but not limited to evisceration and restoration of the body. Gross examination of various tissue types exercising judgement and intermediary knowledge of specimen anatomy. dissection of small, and medium specimens with selection of tissue samples for submission to histology. The tissue examination includes the physical examination/description including color weight, measurement, and other characteristics of the tissue.
Assist management with the training of residents, lower level staff and students.
Will also be responsible for analyzing, trouble shooting and resolving day to day laboratory functions. maintenance of laboratory equipment. Perform QA/QC procedures according to department's established policy and procedures. Maintain statistical records and other related laboratory records. Will perform other duties as necessary for the proper functioning of the laboratory.

5% - Analyzes, resolves and trouble-shoots day to day lab tasks as needed. Facilitates trouble-shooting and resolution of routine issues. Perform QA/QC procedures. Trouble shoot and maintenance of laboratory equipment.

5% - Trains students, lower level staff and residents.
5% - Other duties as assigned.
Master's degree & New York State Department of Education Clinical Lab Technician /Technologist license or Histology Technician License plus three years of related experience.
Or BA/BS & New York State Department of Education Clinical Lab Technician /Technologist license or Histology Technician License plus six years of related experience.
Or equivalent education, training and experience.
Must work in a neat and orderly manner.
Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational, communications and team player skills are required.
Computer knowledge a must.
Must be willing to work evening and weekends.
Must be able to lift and transfer bodies.
