The University of Iowa's College of Dentistry is conducting a search for a Department Executive Officer in the Department of Family Dentistry . This is a full-time tenure-track faculty position at the Associate Professor or Professor level. Family Dentistry represents the primary component of the fourth year DDS curriculum. Its central mission is to train students to integrate the clinic principles taught by dental specialty departments to render comprehensive patient-centered care.
Major responsibilities include:
provide strong leadership to the department;
collaborate with collegiate leadership;
support faculty development and mentorship;
maintain close cooperation with other departments and administration;
sustain an independent or collaborative research/scholarship program;
engage in service activities at the collegiate, regional, and national levels;
contribute to the clinical and didactic teaching efforts of the department;
actively participate in the departmental faculty practice plan; and
cultivate an environment of inclusion and respect for students, faculty and staff within the department/college.
