Reporting to the Assistant Dean for Faculty Affairs and Professional Development, the Manager of Faculty Affairs and Professional Development shall implement, test and manage the faculty data tracking software for the School of Medicine’s appointment, reappointment, and promotion processes for all OUWB faculty members; including Beaumont based faculty. Develops, implements, tests, and monitors OUWB faculty workflows (i.e. mid period reviews, post tenure reviews and faculty evaluations) in partnership with the Assistant Dean for Faculty Affairs and Professional Development. Develops, implements and monitors participation in the monthly new faculty orientation programs for both Oakland based and Beaumont based faculty. The Manager may provide policy analysis, interpretation, and training in academic personnel related issues within the School of Medicine. This position will work closely with Department Chairs in an advisory capacity as well as advising and training administrative professional staff.
Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Educational Leadership, or a directly related field.
Five to seven years of human resources experience.
Three years experience with the management, implementation and system administration of software systems.
Experience with employment process including State and Federal laws related to employment University academic policies, promotion and tenure administration, faculty recognition programs and faculty evaluation processes.
Exceptional judgment, professionalism, and strong analytical, interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills and excellent customer service skills.
Excellent organizational skills with ability to systematize and track processes to ensure timely disposition while meeting multiple deadlines and responding to informational requests.
Proficient with MS Office including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Adobe Pro, or similar systems, with ability to learn University-specific systems and new software in an evolving department.
Ability to research and present information electronically from a variety of authoritative sources and databases, and to use a variety of media to communicate with faculty.
One to two years of supervisory experience.
Masters Degree. Human Resources Certification. Experience preferably in an academic human resources environment,
