The postdoctoral researcher will work in the group of Prof. Benjamin Peherstorfer (https://cims.nyu.edu/~pehersto/) at the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences on scientific machine learning.
Topics of interest including deep networks for PDE problems, nonintrusive model reduction and operator inference, and approximation benefits of depth. Applications of interest are in data-driven model reduction for transport-dominated parametrized problems, control, and uncertainty quantification.
The candidate will help to develop, implement, and apply novel computational techniques to problems of scientific importance, in collaboration with application scientists and engineers.
Starting date is flexible. The initial appointment is for one year with yearly extensions depending on performance and funding.
