Do you like to learn? Have you taken courses on platforms like edX and Coursera? How would you like to help improve courses on edX, using HTML skills, basic coding, and your experience as an online learner?
We are looking for a student who is interested in building and coding components of MOOCs (Massively Open Online Courses) in support of IU's partnership with the global education platform edX. You do not have to be on campus, and we are interested in students from any campus!
What you'll do:
use basic HTML skills to enter course content into the edX learning management system.
modify Python code to create learning activities on edX (A knowledge of Python is helpful, but being able to learn on the job is the most important).
Write code that helps people learn new things.
Beta-test new courses.
Explore new opportunities within the edX platform.
Skills you'll build:
Communication with non-technical team members - You will work with a team of instructional designers, many of whom only know bits and pieces of code. This will help you build the skillset of working with non-technical partners.
Working independently and working remotely.
Learn to make accessible Web code.
Engage in brainstorming and creative problem-solving with a diverse team.
Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University.
Experience with HTML. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Ability to work remotely.
Experience taking an online course, self-paced or otherwise. Experience with Python.
No preference; work will be remote.
