The Tissue Mechanics & Remodeling Laboratory is looking for an independent researcher with prior training in the area of vascular biomechanics and strong publication record. The primary role of the research associate will be to develop custom platforms and experimental protocols to evaluate the biomechanical behavior of mouse and rat arteries in vivo and ex vivo. Additional opportunities will involve the investigation of tissue mechanics as a consequence of remodeling during cancer progression.
A minimum of a PhD in a field directly related to research and a minimum of two years of experience/expertise as noted below; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education and Experience:
The candidate should have experience in the following areas:
Biomechanical testing of arteries by means of computer-controlled inflation-extension.
Tissue harvesting and survival surgery in small animal models.
Quantitative histology and imaging.
Writing and editing papers and proposals.
