Research Support - Laboratory/Non-Laboratory, Staff/Administrative
Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey is seeking a Research Associate II for the Rutgers Center for Advancing Research & Evaluation for Patient-Centered Care at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
The goal of the Rutgers Center for Advancing Research and Evaluation for Patient-Centered Care (CARE PC) is to unite those whose mission is to improve patient outcomes and experiences, and to take root within the institutional structure as a means of continuous evaluation and learning within our healthcare organization. CARE PC strives to better enable patients across health systems to make informed decisions and play a role in their own care.
Under the guidance of the Director and Executive Director, this position is responsible for the conduct of specialized behavioral and social science research and evaluation across multiple projects; supervises project staff and coordinates activities within the Center.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Trains project staff in study design, processes, and related computer software.
In cooperation with the Director and Executive Director, conducts yearly evaluations of staff including providing individual goal setting.
Defines data collection and database needs for the department's grants and programs. Provides training and ongoing monitoring of workflow for timeliness and accuracy of data collection by staff.
Participates in study design including the development of study protocols, instruments, and databases to ensure conformance with goals and objectives of the department and the institution.
Responsible for coordination of all aspects of primary research studies, including but not limited to study recruitment, enrollment, IRB compliance, data collection, maintenance, storage, and management, overall research information management, and ensuring project timeline adherence.
Assists Director and Executive Director in timely completion of all requirements of grant reporting including but not limited to progress reports, enrollment tables, and completion reports.
Participates in the evaluation of existing procedures suggesting revisions where necessary, and proposing new procedures where required.
Maintains financial records and monitors and facilitates financial transactions for the program/project. Ensures expenditures are in accordance with allocation of funds.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Ph.D. or equivalent in Public Health, social or behavioral science; or Master's Degree, as indicated plus three (3) years of related experience in a health research setting
Prior supervisory experience.
Demonstrated experience in quantitative data management.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated experience in qualitative data management is favorable.
Excellent computer skills, with working knowledge of software packages including, but not limited to: Atlas.ti; NVivo; EndNote; SPSS; Microsoft Access, Excel, and Word.
