A total of two (2) (1.0 FTE), Registered Nurses will be hired to fill this job opening.
Hours & shifts are identical for both hires.

This is a multi-unit RN position, which involves staffing assignments on multiple units, per the agreement with UMPNC, Section H, page 55, Multi-Unit Positions.
Units for this position includes the on-campus infusion locations, including Rogel Cancer Center Infusion Clinic, Ravitz Cancer Center Research Unit and C&W Adult BMT/Leukemia, ECP Clinics. The home unit will be the Rogel Cancer Center Infusion Clinic; holidays and PTO will be determined from the home unit.
The RN can be scheduled on any of the three units, based on the unit's staffing needs and will be expected to staff on either unit, as needed.
The Infusion Registered Nurse is accountable for the delivery of direct patient care, including patient education and the management of chemotherapy administration. The Registered Nurse (RN) supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family; assesses the needs of the patient undergoing chemotherapy treatment; plans, implements, and evaluates patient care; and teaches patients, families, orients colleagues and peers.
The RN administers injections, IV hydration, blood products, and chemotherapy. The RN will be required to work in any of Adult Infusion and may be moved throughout the day due to patient acuity and census.
The candidate must have demonstrated the following in his/her current position: Competent performance Accountable for the management of patients assigned to the team. Utilizes the nursing process and nursing standards to prevent or manage actual/potential patient problems in the hematology/oncology setting. Identifies patient/family learning needs and ensures that they are met. Serves as a patient advocate. Works with the various Cancer Center associates to ensure patients are scheduled appropriately.
Communication and Respect. Maintains a highly professional and positive attitude regardless of workload and stress level. Inputs, retrieves and interprets data from multiple manual and computer based information systems. Exhibits professional verbal and non-verbal communication skills.

Current licensure as a Registered Nurse to practice in the State of Michigan
Two (2) years or more of RN experience
Two (2) or more years of recent experience administering chemotherapy
Two (2) or more years of recent hematology/oncology RN experience

Demonstrated ability to start IVs
Experience with electronic medical records, specifically EPIC. Computer/typing skills such as Microsoft Word and Excel
Salary & Nursing Framework Level: This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C. Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire. Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level F.
Required qualifications must be met by the candidate in order to be interviewed and considered for the position. Posting may be filled after the initial 5-day posting period.
