Assist in the development and validation of molecular assays for implementation in the clinical Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory. Platforms include PCR, qPCR, fragment analysis, and next generation sequencing. Compile data for validation documentation and prepare project reports for lab presentations. Train clinical technologists and perform clinical test procedures and assist in instruction of fellows, residents and students. Serve as a technical reference person to clinical technologists, management, and visitors in the laboratory. Assist in clinical research projects.

BS in a relevant science field.
Minimum 3 years of experience with a variety of molecular genetic techniques.
This position requires a detail-oriented, creative, and focused individual with excellent organizational, problem solving, troubleshooting, and interpersonal skills who works well in a team-focused environment.
The ideal candidate has a strong interest and/or experience in the design, development and validation of clinical molecular diagnostic tests. Experience with real-time PCR, capillary electrophoresis, Sanger sequencing, and next-generation sequencing and data analysis is desirable. Post-graduate training with a MS or PhD and practical research experience in molecular genetics is preferred.
This full time, 40 hour position is on the day shift, hours wil be M-F 8:00 am-4:00 pm.
