The successful candidate will require a Ph.D. in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, with a focus on computational fluid dynamics. Operative knowledge of the Eulerian computational models and methods for disperse multiphase flows.
Demonstrated ability to implement complex physical models and numerical methods in computational codes. Knowledge of the C and C++ programming languages.
The candidate is required to have a good knowledge of these two programming languages, to be independent in the implementation of computational models in the CFD codes used in the projects. Experience with ANSYS FLUENT and OpenFOAMÂ®:
The candidate must be familiar with ANSYSÂ® FLUENTÂ® User Defined Functions (UDF) and with the structure of OpenFOAMÂ®. The capability of implementing new models and sub-models, as well as of new numerical algorithms in these codes is a strong requirement, which will be explicitly assessed during the interview process. Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English. Ability to write reports and prepare presentations to effectively communicate research results and progress to the project stakeholders. Independence and self-motivation. Ability of meeting deadlines and a strong commitment to working in a multidisciplinary research group, openly sharing results, challenges, and difficulties with the team with the goal of ensuring the success of the project.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Â Experience with managing large-scale simulations on high-performance compute clusters, including operative knowledge of queue systems, remote post-processing.
Ph.D. in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
