The Division of Materials Science and Engineering at the Ames Laboratory, a Department of Energy National Laboratory affiliated with Iowa State University, is searching for a qualified Postdoctoral Research Associate.
This hybrid experimental and theoretical position is focused on the development and application of computational methods for the simulation of magnetic materials to analyze and interpret experimental data, especially inelastic neutron scattering data. The successful applicant will work closely with experimental and theoretical groups to study novel magnetism, particularly in dilute or disordered systems. Knowledge and experience in neutron scattering and computational methods for magnetic models is desirable. The candidate must have a Ph.D. in physics or a closely related field.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Â Ph.D. must be completed prior to start date.
Knowledge of magnetism and quantum materials
Experience or knowledge of neutron scattering
Experience or knowledge of computer simulations of magnetic models, especially using parallel computing methods
