This is a 1 year, fixed term, grant funded position.
The Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USCâs Center for Craniofacial Molecular Biology is a unique facility that unites world-class researchers in a variety of disciplines centered around structures of the craniofacial region. Since its inception in 1991, CCMB has been home to several major discoveries and has attracted top researchers from around the world.
USC's Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry is looking for a talented Research Lab Tech II to join the CCMB team.
The applicant should be experienced in all or most molecular biology laboratory methodologies and techniques. Essential is experience with fine organ dissections from mice and rats, histology and immunolocalization, real-time PCR, Western blot analysis, animal handling and husbandry, and microscopy (including confocal, and SEM). The applicant must be highly organized with impeccable record keeping. The applicant should also have experience in, or be willing to learn, the preparation of samples for analyses of high-throughput data such and in RNA-seq.
Provides general laboratory assistance to support research activities. Conducts research experiments in accordance with laboratory and safety protocols. Performs assignments which are non-routine and vary in complexity with minimal direction. Compiles data and computes results for a variety of research procedures, tests and techniques.
Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Field of Expertise: Bachelor Degree in related field can be substituted for minimum experience requirements. A working knowledge of laboratory equipment and research protocols is also required.
