Provides Stigler Center Leadership, Planning, and Metrics - co-develops with the Faculty Director the annual strategic plan and budget for the Stigler Center, including identification and implementation of new initiatives and consolidation of current ones. Monitors quarterly revenue and expenses vs. budget, and adjusts future plans as needed.Â Oversees Centerâ™s events, programs and initiatives.Â Works with Booth departments and Centers to foster internal partnerships and collaborations, as well as gather relevant metrics associated with the Stigler Centerâ™s activities.
Leads Journalists in Residence Program - leads the planning of the flagship Journalists in Residence Program, overseeing its execution from recruiting and applicant selection to program design.
Leads Cross-School and Cross-Campus Initiatives - along with managers from most functional areas of the school and the University of Chicago, leads initiatives with partners on joint events, programs, communications, and fundraising.Â These internal partner groups include Alumni Affairs and Advancement, Part-Time and Full-Time MBA Admissions, Career Services, Student Affairs, Marketing Communications, Legal/Contracts, Accounting, and Booth IT.
Promotes Stigler Center Visibility - serves as a key spokesperson for many of the Stigler Centerâ™s activities involving alumni and students (e.g. introducing speakers, interacting closely with Stigler Faculty Advisory Committee members, soliciting and helping to secure donations from prospective alumni donors).
Oversees all Communications and Publications Strategies - works with Booth Marketing to design and develop all Stigler Center communications and publications, including Stigler Center website and annual report (for internal Booth Audiences).Â Spearheads communications and marketing for ProMarket.org publication (in conjunction with the Senior Associate Director/Senior Editor) andÂ Capitalisnâ™t podcast (in conjunction with the producer).
Oversees the podcast Capitalisnâ™t - as the Producer of Capitalisnâ™t, leads growth strategy, manages the producer, and oversees production budget and marketing efforts.
Manages Stigler Center Staff and Temporary Worker - manages Senior and Associate Directors and Research Professionals:Â Hires, supervises, motivates and evaluates Senior Associate Director, Associate Director, and Research Professionals.
Supervises Academic Conferences and Multi-Event Programs per year - oversees planning for 3 academic conferences (Political Economy of Finance, Antitrust and Concentration Conference, and a rotating additional conference). In addition, supervise planning of all other Center events including PhD Lunch Seminars, Speakers Series, and Mini-Courses.
Serves as Project manager for Case Study Series - coordinates with external faculty members, research assistants, and case writers to develop case studies for the Stigler Center case study series.
Works closely with faculty, students and other leaders across campus to foster experimentation and multi-disciplinary inquiry and teaching by coordinating and developing Center programming. This may include workshops. Conferences, colloquia, training programs, community outreach, etc.
Oversees a communication strategy and marketing efforts aimed at increasing the visibility of the Center. Collaborates with others to make the center a valuable resource to all students and contributes to the broad goals of creating a stronger campus community.
