The Syracuse University Experimental Gravitational-Wave Group is soliciting applications for a post- doctoral researcher position for research on technology for current and future gravitational-wave detectors. Experience in one of the following areas is desired: coatings for gravitational-wave detectors, cryogenics, optics, wave front control, electronics, and interferometer control. The successful candidate will work on testing optical coatings and/or laser wave front control for LIGO upgrades and future gravitational-wave detectors. The candidate should have a Ph.D. in physics, engineering, or a related field. The initial appointment is for one year with the possibility for renewal. The position involves both research and advising graduate students in the group.
