The School of Criminal Justice, Rutgers University invites applications for Part-Time Lecturer (PTL) teaching positions in the undergraduate and MA program during the Spring 2021 Semester.
Successful applicants will develop and instruct undergraduate courses on a wide variety of topics including, but not limited to: constitutional theory, contemporary policing, corrections, criminal justice systems, criminal law, criminology, ethics, juvenile justice, policing, special topics in criminal justice, research methods, and statistics.
Instructors shall report to the Dean of the School of Criminal Justice, attend an orientation, prepare and submit course syllabi, meet and provide pedagogically appropriate instruction during assigned class times, provide timely student feedback, respond to student emails, and adhere to grade submission policies and deadlines. In classes that have a research focus, instructors shall follow appropriate Institutional Review Board policies and procedures to ensure the protection of human subjects.
Course appointments are on the Rutgers Newark campus or at the Rutgers off-campus site located at County College of Morris and may include remote or hybrid formats, in addition to possible face-to-face instruction.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Masters or Juris Doctorate Required. Doctorate Preferred.
Demonstrated ability to teach at the university level.
Applicants with comparable degrees from accredited institutions may also be considered. Prior teaching experience is also preferred.
