Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey is seeking a motivated Program Coordinator for the Newark Screening – Acute Services Division within University Behavioral Health Care (UBHC).
In collaboration with the Program Manager and Director, Acute Emergency Services, functions as a member of the clinical and administrative leadership team in the Newark Screening program. Primarily responsible for providing supervision to multi-disciplinary staff. Ensures compliance with all regulations.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Supervises staff in the Newark Screening program.
Performs duties relevant to a leadership position supporting UBHC goals and objectives.
Maintains appropriate consumer/patient records as mandated by UBHC policy.
As required by individual program, assumes direct care responsibilities for consumer/patients and provides individual, group, family supportive counseling, crisis intervention, psycho-education, and case management services as clinically indicated.
Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all consumers, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.
Demonstrates effective problem solving and organizational skills.
Demonstrates a commitment to facilitate and support personal professional growth through utilization of effective communication techniques with an emphasis on customer satisfaction.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Master's Degree in a related mental health field and four (4) years of postgraduate experience in related community mental health and/or case management work.
Licensure to practice as required by New Jersey state laws governing the discipline.
Applicants possessing a degree in Social Work must have an active New Jersey certification/licensure as required by the State Board of Social Work.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Eligibility for certification as a Psychiatric Screener in the State of New Jersey.
Valid driver's license for use in community outreach.
