Loyola University Maryland has an opening for a Investment and Treasury Associate. The Investment and Treasury Associate position reports to the University Controller and manages the banking, treasury and investment operations of the University.
Essential job duties include: - Manage banking and treasury functions (cash flow analysis, foreign exchange transactions, maintenance of accounts and other treasury services, etc.). - Assist in certain endowment related activities such as executing trades for a small piece of the endowment managed by students, initiating capital calls for investments, and perform other analyses to minimize costs and manage risks. - Work with University's investment consultant and investment custodian to execute re-balancing decisions of Board Investment Committee, including all redemptions and new investments. - Manage the payment and receipt of capital calls and distributions. - Monitor endowment cash balances and cash flow activity in the University's endowment pool, including anticipated inflows and outflows. - Work with Advancement Office, Controller's Office, and investment custodian to execute endowment gift stock redemptions. - Forecast annual endowment spending. - Monitor investment management fees. - Monitor working capital cash balances daily, ensuring adequate cash is available for operations and capital expenditures while maximizing the amount of cash invested. - Seek to ensure the University's working capital cash investment vehicles are appropriate with regard to liquidity, risk, duration, return, fee structure, etc. - Develop short-term and long-range cash flow projections, including validation of source data and development of key assumptions and risks. - Oversee all daily bank account activities: ensure that the cash transfer system is managed to efficiently transfer approved transactions while mitigating the risk of fraud; initiate wire transfers and movements of cash as required.
Bachelor’s degree and 3 to 5 years of experience required. CPA or Investment Accounting experience is highly preferred.
