ACADEMIC COORDINATOR OF CLINICAL EDUCATION FOR THE PHYSICAL THERAPY PROGRAM
Responsibilities will include: plan and carry out instructional activities, prepare lesson plans, maintain records and report on students' progress. The instructor will keep abreast of technical changes in the field and update program accordingly, participate in professional development activities to improve teaching skills/technical expertise, internal and external service, and leadership opportunities. Responsible for assisting with student recruitment, retention, assessment and other duties as assigned by the Division Chair such as academic advising.
ACADEMIC COORDINATOR OF CLINICAL EDUCATION FOR THE PHYSICAL THERAPIST ASSISTANT PROGRAM
The clinical education coordinator is a physical therapist or physical therapist assistant who is licensed or regulated in any United States jurisdiction as a PT or PTA and has a minimum of three years of full-time post-licensure clinical practice. Two years of clinical practice experience must include experience as a CCCE or CI in physical therapy, or a minimum of two years of experience in teaching, curriculum development and administration in a PT or PTA program.
Minimum Expectation: Evidence that the clinical education coordinator has been employed full time and, as reflected in a current curriculum vitae and That the clinical education coordinator possesses at least the following minimum qualifications:
(a) is a physical therapist or physical therapist assistant who holds a current license to practice in any US jurisdiction;
(b) is a member of the core faculty; and
(c) has a minimum of three years of full-time post-licensure clinical practice experience; two years of clinical practice must include experience as a CCCE or CI in physical therapy OR two years of experience in teaching, curriculum development and administration in a PT or PTA program.
Position Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Developing, monitoring and refining the clinical education component of our curriculum.
Facilitate quality learning experiences for students during clinical education.
Evaluate students' performance, in cooperation with other faculty, to determine their ability to integrate didactic and clinical learning experience and to progress within the curriculum.
Teach courses and content within area of expertise.
Student-focused educator committed to student learning, retention, persistence, and completion.
Assess student's performance related to the course's learning objective and to identify areas for student improvement.
Advise students as well as monitoring their academic performances to ensure their success.
Regularly engage in professional learning activities and actively seek information about developing trends and ideas in order to maintain current in professional skills.
Evaluate and revise curriculum, course materials, and delivery methods as changes in the field and teaching environments warrant.
Serve on College committees to enhance College policies and processes which enhance student academic and career success.
