The department of psychiatry is seeking a Psychiatrist able to admit patients, make rounds, fill out commitment papers, and write orders for medication, diagnostic studies, devices, and consultations on inpatient psychiatric unit or provide services to patients scheduled at contracted agencies. Candidate will works collaboratively with staff nurses, advance practice nurses, interns, psychiatric residents, social workers and other staff physicians and agency staff. Location and time of assignments to be mutually agreed upon.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Provides coverage at inpatient sites. Services to include psychiatric evaluation, medication management, restraints and staff consultation as required. Provides appropriate documentation of care including chart notes and completion of required/requested forms.
Provides additional coverage call for the Department’s hospital contract. Coverage will be on‑site face-to-face.
Must ensure the possession of a functioning phone at all times while on-call.
Must respond to any and all calls by telephone response within 15 minutes.
Must be available and respond to any and all or direct service to patients within one hour of being called for restraint, sentinel event, near-miss or any other clinical situation that requires face-to-face clinical care by an independent clinical practitioner.
Keeps abreast of agency, hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
Submits appropriate billing information.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Graduation from an accredited school of medicine with a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree and completion of a residency at a recognized institution.
Experience: One (1) year of experience as a practicing physician.
Licensure: Unrestricted Licensed as a Physician with the State of New Jersey with a current CDS and DEA.
Salary: Commensurable with experience
