JOBSUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Under the direction of an assignedsupervisor, this position is responsible for assisting with conducting stemcell research within the Department of Bioscience Research. Particularly, thisposition assists the researcher in the laboratory and participates inprocedures using experimental techniques.
Conducts tissue cultures and isolates stem cells from tissues.
Performs stem cell cultures, freezes/thaws cells, and harvests images.
Oversees cell assays: stimulation and cell culture staining.
Performs electrophoresis: blotting, immunostaining, and imaging.
Works on histology: tissue sectioning and staining.
Maintains mice, performs surgery/implantations, performs tissue resections, and processes imaging.
Acquires images through standardized processes, under the direction of the researcher.
Analyzes images and data, documents data into an excel spreadsheet, and provides simple calculations/statistics.
Assists lab employees, as necessary.
Performs other related duties, as assigned.
